i have bin tossing up the idea for a while now wither or not to get a mafless tune on my vz ss 5.7lt,

please note that i have got a 3" stainless 4 in 1 exhaust with pacemaker extractors, and high flow cats

so if someone could state the pros and cons of getting a mafless tune, eg fuel efficacy, engine smoothness in low range revs, and so on

any help would be appreciated

just be aware that removing the MAF sensor is an illegal modification as you are removing/modifying a component of the engines emissions system.
I realise a lot of people do it and get away with it, but you can be defected for it.

A tuner with some skill should be able to tune it with a maf almost as well as mafless.

i dont think you would even notice much of a difference between a maf and a maffless tune anyway

I dont know why you blokes dont pull the guts out of the MAF sensors and bore them out after you have them tuned. Have them sitting in there plugged in as a dummy.

you could do that... if you keep the standard airbox

My understanding with mafless on an otherwise stock motor compared to a tune that leaves it in place has a negligible difference. When you cam it then mafless becomes pretty much required as the air pulse confuses the hell out of it.

It's possible to move it to sit just behind a OTR intake. There are several EPA legal OTR's that do exactly that available for VE's (possibly others too).

im having the same problem, i want to get my vx ss tuned only have a cat back, i want it to look factory under the bonnet.
the problem is do i get a gts intake pipe and run mafless or just keep the maf and get it tuned with it! both mafless and maf tuning are the same price where i got quotes!
Everyone i have spoken to said get a gts pipe and on mafless, they said it gives better throttle response!
so very confused at the moment

if you don't want an OTR, mafless and GTS pipe is the winner
