I've been very critical of the handling of VF utes in the past. I've had a 2015 series 2 auro redline and a 17 SS manual - both were pretty average. I had issues with noisey brakes in the 15 and cronic stiff shifts (woeful when cold even after 35,000 kms of driving) - I decided to pony up on an auto Magnum when the dealer offered me back what I paid for my 17 SS (yes, same money as I bought it for new except it had 38,000kms and was 18 months old). I have to take my hat off to the engineers that tackled the MAgnum. It's honestly like driving a sports car. Couldn't be happier with braking, suspension and steering of this beast! So finally a positive post from me. Cheers for the Magnum Holden. Love it

yeah they fiddled with the rear on the magnum, apparently it carries less - but who's hauling anything but ass in these?

the auto in the VF is also a hell of a lot of fun with the paddle shifters too so i've found.

Yeah, payload reduced to 400kgs, just like a Maloo.
My Magnum is my daily, and gets used as a normal ute.
Took it to Bunnings yesterday to pick up 10 concrete pavers for my sons house, plus some pine planks.
Its also done 6 tip runs, hauled furniture to my sons house, hauled furniture to my daughters house in East Gippsland and returned with a tub full of firewood.
I regularly see a white Magnum around my area hauling a large tradies trailer.

yeah mine carries wheels, motors, gear boxes, and so on. I've bailed the hard lid so it can perform it's duties. Driven daily and left outside 24/7 yeeww

So this has ended up a cock fight over who can treat their magnum the worst? :D

I'll be losing this one. :)

My Magnum's a daily.
My Maloo is a garage queen.
My Redline is with my dad, so an 84yo doesn't have to ride his motorbike.

this makes me sad, it's a LE should have bought a basic one for this kind of duty.

oh well just makes them rarer i guess.

It’s the same for the Magnum ute. Of the 240 produced – 127 manual, 113 auto – the rarest colour was again Nitrate Silver with just two manuals and four auto for a 2.5 per cent production slice. This time the most popular ute colour (over 10 times more popular) was Phantom Black, however, with 39 auto and 31 manual totalling 29.2 per cent of production.

It makes me sad when cars aren't used for their intended purpose.

this is a limilted edition run of 240 vehicles, you guess what the intended purpose is.
