Get to my car, turn it on... Sub is working great, back speakers seem to be fine, once i go above volume 15 the front speakers start getting all fuzzy/crackly\ I've unplugged sub - Still does it Unplugged the amp - Still does it.. but speakers front speakers also cut right out aswell. Have autobarn stuffed something up.. i just find it hard to believe in 3 hours my speakers go from fine to this. Im going back in the morning but have a feeling they aren't going to bother helping me or look at it. Anyone have any advice? or even know what could be the cause Thanks
Something is obviously not right and it could be a couple of things. When you say you unplugged the amp... what exactly did you disconnect? Power or the RCAS? Is the input switched to high Or low? Since from the products you have listed there is no loc installed... it should be switched to high. Is there a remote wire fitted? If yes, check to see if the switch is in the Rem position. If not it should be in the Auto position. Show them the problem when you disconnect the amp and simply explain this problem wasn't here when you dropped it off. Stay calm, listen to what they have to say but rein force the point the problem wasn't apparent on arrival. as an experienced fitter myself I can guarantee you that the product you have selected should be working fine with your car without any issues. The fact that you have purchased the equipment elsewhere will have no bearing on the matter unless the product was faulty. If the product is faulty explain to them that you can take it back for a replacement after they have proven to you it is faulty via one of two methods. Testing on of their amps in your car with good results or testing your amp on the bench, sound board or another vehicle with the same results. If it does show to be faulty then be prepared to have to pay for little bit of labour for them to remove and refit your existing and replacement amp. It is only fair. Perhaps the installation of a loc may be required (shouldn't ) or the use of a remote wire (again.. shouldn't ) If it does then you will need to pay for the parts but ask that they cover the labour as it should've been determined as a requirement during the Install.
thanks for the reply When i say unplugged the amp i mean power and rcas I went back and they checked it all over and come back saying the front door wiring was shorting on something, all fixed now the back doors are playing up they are going to install a LOC tomorrow
Thanks for sharing this information..A common problem in many car audio installations, especially your first installations, is a problem with the car audio amplifier. These problems can vary from crackling, popping to just plain not working.
I'd be so bold as to assume that when they tapped into your speakers to run the amp, they might have cut your speaker cable too much and now its shorting out.
