Hi all,

I’m sorry if there’s already a thread on this, but I was just wondering what an average pricefor the major 100k/105k kilometre service would be?

I have a 2012 SV6 VE II, everything stock. I also live in SA if that helps, and won’t be getting any kind of friends or family discount. I just don’t want to be ripped off as this is my first commodore and my first car over 4cyl, so I’m not too sure on what the usual cost would be.

Also, would it be better to go to a dealership, or a privately owned mechanic

Thanks in advance!

Your local friendly mechanic will do it.
Have you READ your books re what is required?
Oil, 5-30 and filter.
Air filter.
Coolant flush then new RED coolant.
Fill me on on more things you find to be required.

Find a reliable local, ask people their experiences beforehand etc... Just as an FYI though, $100ish an hour for labour is a common price so don't be shocked by that.

I can’t find my book to determine what else I need. I appreciate the response, but was more looking for someone whos had it done already and can just give me an estimation.

Yeah I’m aware of the labour rates. I appreciate the response, but was more looking for someone whos had it done already and can just give me an estimation.

FWIW it’s easy to do it yourself and save heaps if you wish to save heaps.
It’s not at all hard and takes little time.
Do you actually have the books that came with your car?
Books tell you what has been done and what is needed to be done.
Very important information in the cars books.

I’d love to do it myself but can’t, needs to be a logbook service otherwise my warranty gets voided.

I’ve got the books, just don’thave access to them right now, which is why I asked for peoples experiences who’ve had it done haha
