Leave the engine cover off it just acts like a blanket and traps heat in.

Holdencallous, I think it would be tricky to make them. One, you really need a mill and two having all the measurements exact is tricky. If there was a set that could be copied it would be fairly easy, but trying to use the manifold to gauge the holes would take some skill.

There was a guy a few years ago, who made one at home.

He used a drill press. I think it was made of aluminium?

I have heard of it.

And aluminium would defeat the purpose of it as the main goal is to thermally separate the manifold from the engine.
I wonder what his gains were like, surely they can’t be as much as something that keeps the manifold cooler.
