Hi, just looking to se if anyone has used both NPC upgraded clutches and Mantic 9000 series cerametallic clutches.
Would like to know how they compare toeach other and if one is better than the other.

The clutch is to go into a slightly modified HSV Maloo, the clutch is going to have to be able to handle 550hp-600hp (rear wheel hp) 410rw kw - 447rw kw.

I have one mechanic saying to go with the Mantic and the other NPC, both have only used either the Mantic or the NPC not both.
Just would like to know anyones input as i will be getting the heads and cam plus smaller pulley done at the same time.

Cheers.

With that power you will need a twin plate clutch. Everyone will have mixed opinions. Price is mainly the deciding factor as they both very good.

Thanks for the reply.
Interesting as you say that i will need a twin plate clutch.
I did mention this to the mechanic, as i told them i still want it as a daily drive for around town, it is not setup for drag racing or track work.
They said you would want to stay away from multi plate clutches or un sprung button clutches.

Any more information about this or the two clutches would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Mate mates mantic single was slipping on the dyno with 440rwkw....

Put in a new twin plate mantic and it held perfectly to 550rwkw.

how was the twin plate like to drive with?
Is it ok for around town traffic use, and constant start stop at lights and the like?
I am thinking it will be close to 1000nm or a little more,
Currently it is at around 800nm and 358 rwkw.
I am told the Maloo (2012) came out running the same clutch as the HSV 427, but they are only really rated to 500hp, 373kw and that is flywheel hp, kw not rear wheel.
So i am kind of pushing the limit as it is with the standard setup.

Would be great to know how the twin plate is like in traffic.

Cheers.

He said its fine. No real difference in feeling compared to his singlet plate.

haha the clutch for real bogans!

Can't comment on Mantic but I put a HD single coppermix organic NPC behind my LS1 and I can't fault it. Not too heavy and a good solid engagement. Lot of people love the NPC clutches. As for which one you'll need, flick NPC an email, they've always been very helpful for me. They'll know their product better than an unfamiliar mechanic will.
