ok i have a manual v6 vn and blew the motor. Went to buy another motor and all wreckers are telling me you have to buy a manual engined vn coz the cranks are different and some other bits. The worst thing is they are rare as. So what do i do?
im pretty sure u dont need a auto engine :S maybe a memcal (but u should alreayd hav) im not 100% sure wait for some body else knows
You have 2 choices, keep looking for a genuine manual v6 engine or use an auto engine with a manual flywheel adaptor. The adaptors are available from a place called the castlemaine rod shop (03) 5427 2853. The only difference from a manual engine to an auto engine is the crankshaft.
the manual motor is faster try and get a manual motor thy go better thy have slightly better space in the internal off manual motor.
If its a series 1 Vn then yes, The crank is different. If its a series 2 its a straight swap, Just upgrade to a series 2 and get a delco tune, You can choose a motor from a Vn series 2 -- VR series 1 Auto or manual doesnt matter, all have an 8 bolt crack, oposed to the 6 bolt crank on the VN Just get a new 8 bolt fly wheel and away you go IF the series 1 isnt already 8 bolt, im fairly sure its 6 though.
and a little extra to add to that.. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah arrrr hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
