Map & Firmware Updates For Holden IQ?

Another option... Find a car for sale with MY13 maps. Grab your laptop and take the car for a test drive.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm will maps from VF / WN work on series 2 WM, been screweed by holden dealers and HQ for years now (WK, WL, 3 x WMs) time to get somethin for nothin (they still will be up on me 10000 fold for screwimg me!)

 

Very hard to say without having access to both an IQ version of the maps, and a VF version of the maps.
I know there are very big differences with the Series I maps, and the IQ (Series II) Maps which would make upgrading the Series I Sat Nav DVD a pretty serious project.

I originally had Sat Nav with my Series I headunit, then upgraded to the IQ unit with Sat Nav, and the file formats / layouts were completely different

 

I just had the firmware updated on my IQ System went from SW Version D304 now have D313 Still the same 7172 map database and spoke to parts about if / when map upgrade is coming he just shrugged his shoulders.

I was hoping a MY14 map update was coming out, rumor had it at March 2014 then June 2014 and now doesn't look like coming at all.

 

Hopefully the map updates that are in other cars in similar systems can be modified so they can be used in the IQ

 

I noticed something quite odd when I updated from MY11 to MY13 maps, my street was finally visible and active on the satnav (yay) BUT a well known "Safety Camera" (a joke in itself) along a route I frequent often was no longer showing up.
Has anyone else experienced similar situations where they have updated a map only to find some features appear missing from older versions?

 

In my searches I came across Navigation Systems Australia Including BMW Models - I wouldn't recommend them unless someone here has proof otherwise? I asked them what map database shows when it's in the iQ and they've said "Sorry but we don’t have a device to check that numbers"

 

It is interesting to note the similarities in the back end to the relatively ubiquitous VW RNS 510 database which is up to date.
I'm sure that if Sensis does abandon the Holden IQ licensing scheme that there is a legal defence to updating the existing database (for personal use only).
No shortage of VW-driving Chinese software engineers looking to collaborate in such an academic research for a fee either.

 

Update today I`ve been told GM is going with a new suppler as last one is taking too long.
November 30 new one we will see.

 

New supplier for mapping or just the manufacturing of the SD cards?

 

Last one for Holden IQ (VE) was Navtec licensed by Sensis / Whereis to GM Holden. Who does MyLink?

 

No idea. Will ask.

I`m only getting second hand news which I hope is right.

 

Didn`t find much.
Interpreter looked it up on data base nothing there seems to think GM will email Dealers updates and Dealers will download to car.(no sd card).
GM tells them sweet FA.
If we had a SD card for the VF in stock I could take pics like I did before.
