Mounted the thermostat housing above the dog clutch, its a pretty busy looking thing. Ran it for a while and it seems to be working.

Looks good. Be careful with big bends immediately before/after the maf as it creates a high velocity (short turn) and low velocity area along the outter wall. Messes with the way the MAF reads as I've found. if you can put a bit of straight pipe between that bend and the MAF you're probably best off.

But if it runs well, no need to worry about it! On that note, do you still have the airbox? If so I may be interested in purchasing it from you if you want to sell it.

Ill see if there is room to extend the intake when i get the cover on, still up in the air whether to put a filter on or not as well. Lots of boats i looked at didnt have one and the MAF has a screen thatll catch anything big enough to do damage.

As for air filter lid ill have to go have a look at the ute, not sure if its there or been lost, you can have it if its there.
They were unique to the VSIII roller cam utes from memory.

Got the go go pedal mounted and hooked up, just another little thing off the list.

Having problems with never drying resin, mixed the same ratio as all the other times and it refuses to set. All i can put it down to is the cold weather. It gets a skin if you put the heat gun on it so maybe it will go off on a warm day.

Brother got a new lens for his camera, weather was nice so we took the boat down to the lake with the old Ute.

She'd sink pretty quick, twin 2.5'' holes would let a lot of water in id reckon haha.

Other then the exhaust and a prop it would be able to go out for some tests but i want to get it finished a bit more before i take her out, excitingly close though!

Big update!

Shiny new prop showed up today, so after work we took her out for the maiden voyage.

Happy to report no major problems. Runs at 80c, no vibrations and heaps of power. Had a good look for leaks before heading out, didnt want to end up sunk in the middle haha.
Have a mild coughing problem thats possibly related to the worn ignition switch or possibly my test fuel pump being a bit small or maybe just the old plug leads no big deal and should pretty easy to sort out. Very happy.
