If some leads and plugs don't cure you cough move the ignition module away from the ecu and see what happens

Does the ignition module create some kind of static that upsets the PCM or something?

It never coughed or anything on the second run and i haven't touched a thing except put the cover on. Ill be doing leads and plugs before next run. It needs a new fuel pump its just got my old test one from a VK EFI which i think is pretty borderline. Is an 070 bosch big enough?

Noise suppression capacitor on for the coil is critical for the 531 pcm's apparently as they're very sensitive to interference - more so than the earlier pcm's.

Ive got the suppressor connected, its mounted onto one of the rocker cover bolts just next to the coil. Not sure where its factory mounted as this is where it was when i bought the engine. The ute had a crappy ebay special coil that you can see in this pic but i have put on the correct bosch one since.

Got some teething problems i need to sort.
The main one is not starting hot, not sure whats happened as the ute started hot fine but the boats having a few problems.
Heres a video of what its doing, pumping seems to help it start but not always. It gets worse at normal operating temp but this is warm maybe sitting 30 mins. When it goes it makes a large hiss from the IAC being fully opened. Starts cold perfectly everytime interestingly.

Yet to plug in a scan tool or check for codes but anyone seen something like this before?
Other problems are pretty minor, alternator isnt exciting or charging properly, got an exhaust leak on one of my manifolds and the fuel pump isnt quite big enough.

Found something very odd after much hair pulling, when i first put the engine in and ran it was fine, then seemingly random it started cylcing the fuel prime over and over with a split pause when you turn the ignition on.

Cut a long story short, but in this pic there is an earth from the ign module body mount to the main PCM and relay block earth cable. When you disconnect it there is no fuel prime problem, if you connect it to the block earth there is no problem, connect if back like the picture it plays up again.
Very weird. Must be causing some kind of interference.

Earths should all be earthed at the block which is total 0v and ran as per factory with all the noisey earths injectors etc separate from the quiet sensor earths

The earths up in the seat are all just relay earths from memory which makes it a little strange to effect the PCM?
The engine harness is earthed in the original locations on the block. There is only 1 big fat earth to the block from bat at the present is that enough?

Should i move the ignition module further from the PCM?
