I'm getting a bit bored with the sound of my SS and I'm thinking of throwing on a pair of Marriage Savers from Rapid for more growl, burble and open throttle roar.

The current exhaust consists of 1/78 headers, 100 cell cats and a stainless 3" system. The AFM has been disabled via a dyno tune.

Based on people's experience with Marriage Savers and considering it's a 3" system:

Do you think drone would be an issue?

Would it be obnoxiously loud?

Who's got these on their 8s and what are your opinions of them?

Any insights would be much appreciated

they are designed to make the system quieter and reduce drone.

I have them on 1 3/4 4-1 headers, 100cpi cats and walkinshaw cat back, which is a 3 inch merging into 2.5 at back.

no drone, awesome note, loud but not obnoxious. Well worth it in my view

The reduced drone part I get but arent they designed to accentuate volume rather than quiet things down?

Definitely louder than the Walkinshaw mufflers. The J pipes reduce volume over straight pipes, and the marriage savers take this one step further with resonators built into the J pipe.

Yeah...I don't want to reduce the current ehaust volume...the aftermarket mufflers I've got sound pretty damn good already.

Might give the marriage savers a miss tbh

Get some factory bi modal mufflers and put them behind a 3" system.

I had them on the back of a stock system on a VF1. The difference in sound was incredible, considering the stock VF1 mufflers sounded like a choked SV6

I'll admit to being naïve, why do they call them 'marriage savers'?

.

Isn't it because they take away the exhaust drone which also removes the Mrs drone ?
