Mass VF Commodore Recall - Seatbelt issue 42000 VF's affected

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously but:

Ment to be picking up mine next week. Dealer said it wont happen. Guess its a good thing that the issues been picked up.. but still, Fark!

he recall affects all 2014 model year VF Commodore and WN Caprice models, numbering 41,933 in total, and relates to the vehicles’ four-, six- and eight-way adjustable front seats.

In a statement, Holden explains a condition has been identified where the pretensioner wiring harness on 2014 VF Commodore sedan, Sportwagon and ute models and WN Caprice sedans may make contact with a bolt at the base of the seatbelt buckle assembly.

“In this circumstance, if the pretensioner wiring harness develops wear as a result of contacting the bolt, the airbag warning light may illuminate on the instrument cluster and there is a risk that the pretensioner may not deploy in the event of an accident.”

Holden stresses that all other safety devices, including airbags, are unaffected by the condition.

Pre tensioner wire rubbing on the belt buckle.

havent had to do one yet, but just had a quick read of the fix (too lazy to read it all right now) seems we just insulate.
There was wording of some bracket in there.

Butyl patch to be applied to the front seat belt pretensioner harness.

There is also an inspection of the welds on the seat base runners. If the weld isn't big enough I believe the seat base will have to be replaced.

We had futuris automotive out today to repair a couple of cars we were supposed to deliver last week.

I was surprised by that number too...
On the radio this arvo, they said my13 models?

That number would be every VF sedan, wagon and ute, plus all WN caprice LWB. Also remember that this will include all dealership and plant stock, which probably another 5-6,000 cars (about 45 days stock).

mine is supposed to be built this Thursday the 29th May hope it isn't further delayed:supersad: just found out only cars built prior to 22nd May 2014
