mates VS makes beeping noises while driving? maybe an ecu error? anyone know?

    VL 5 speed (sold), VS wagon
    my mates VS sometimes will randomly start having a beeping noise coming from the dash, sometimes will go for 5 mins sometimes just 5 seconds, turning the speed alert off doesnt make any difference, and handbreak isnt on whenever it does this. does anyone know what this could be?

    It will beep when it gets low on fuel (around 8 litres left),or you drive off with the handbrake on,Ive heard they beep when the engine overheats,not 100% sure on that though,Ive never had mine that hot.Mine is an executive with level 2 dash.Level 3 dash might be different.Ive never heard of ECU errors causing it to beep,you need to flash them up with a scantool or via the ALDL plug and engine light, unless the ECU is getting a bad signal or is faulty and is making it beep when theres nothing wrong.I dont even know if the ECU controls the beeper.Someone here will know though.

    when it beeps any lights come up on dash? what cluster u mate got? level 2 or 3?

    In my statesman it makes a beeping noise sometimes. (fair bit)
    The earth or something has came off the hand brake so it thinks the handbrake is still on.
