A couple days ago this vh sl/e popped up for sale and it was what ive always been looking for!


Car: VH SL/E Commodore
Month/Year: June 1983
Body type: Sedan
Color: Mercury Silver
Trim: Dark blue indigo velour SL/E interior

Option Pack: 363

Standard central locking, Electronic trip computer and standard rear headrests.

Engine: Holden 202 motor, 3.3lt, Carby
Trans: M40 Trimatic auto
Diff: Should be a 3.08:1 according to a 363 Pack

Exhaust: Stock

Suspension: Stock

Wheels: x5 Orignal vh sl/e alloys, 15inch

Plans are to restore the car with a few extras along the way.

Future mods:
-Fix any dents and rust + Respray
-replace all front end and rear end suspension
-Fit new brakes and lines all round
-Fit new speakers front and rear + New headunit
-Replace door seals/rubbers
-Fit and rebuilt 253 v8
-Fit pacemakers and exhaust system
-New headlights and some chrome mouldings

Will be updating this thread as i go along with the project

Heres some photos from the other night when i got it home...

I will upload a couple more photos in a few days, Pretty flat out at the moment.

ya gotta love the dark blue interior.... great to see the early girls getting popular with P platers now the laws about V8's have changed... if ya need any help with anything just send me a PM im doing up a VH SL/E myself.

For sure! One of the best interiors in my opinion

Might start doing a few things on it this weekend as i have finally got some time on my hands again

Cant drive any sort of 8cyl or turbo/supercharged car on P plates for 4 years.

You know what I find stupid. I drive a 210kw VE.... Brand new meaning it has almost all it's power.

But I cannot drive a v8 VB stock with what like 90kw at the flywheel. And these days probably get about 10kw......

Doesn't make sense.

Oh by asking about the P Plates laws. Just saying most P platers could afford like a v8 VY anyways. So don't know what you mean by the early birds coming out.

Well had some time on my hands yesterday, so thought i would get the car up on stands and make a detailed list of what i need to buy and do!
Gave the engine and engine bay a good wash down so i could see everything aswell.

Hopefully paint and panel can happen in the next month and a bit

Still undecided whether i just go Mercury silver again or a nice blue over silver.

I think mine was a dealer fitted option tho.
