ive snapped 2 of them from over reeving

Bet that would of made a horrid noise.

My stock crank and rods 3.8 goes up to 7000 no problem with an auto

Well I wouldn't encourage anyone to push a stock Buick or Eco that far. Yours might be ok but many won't be.

Plus considering power comes on at about 3k on a mostly stock engine and maxes out at 4,500 roughly, what would be the point of overrevving a little V6.
At 7k the tired old lifters probably won't keep up and neither will stock springs that have 200+k on them.
Heck my old lifters wouldn't keep up at 5k for anymore than a quick stab of the throttle, before they made a terrible racket.

It sure could, but constantly doing this could result in a few noises internally, just to begin with...The worst case scenario is a new way to check the oil level in the sump too, without needing a rag to wipe the dipstick ;)
