G'day all. I have read that it is not legal to have mechanical gauges inside the passenger compartment. This I can completely understand for fuel, oil, etc

but

Does this same rule apply to boost gauges? It is just air after all...

As a side note, where can I get a single gauge cup for bonnet mounting (2 inch gauge) and how much should I expect to pay for it?

cheers

Compressed air can do a lot of damage. If it gets injected under your skin it can get into your blood stream and kill you.

Tiny air particles pass through the pores in your skin.

Anyway, you should never put machanical guages that carry fluid inside the car for your OWN safety.

I heard that any gauge that isn't firmly secured to a solid part of the cars body (like radio etc) will soon bcome illegal, going through after some ****head was seriously injured when his 18 ft monster tacho smashed into his skull in an accident causing irrepairable brain damage.

Compressed air may be able to hurt you if you get any significant pressure against skin but the chances of that happening in a car would be next to none...

IBLOWN you said "gauges carrying fluid". Technically air is a fluid... would you include it in that description? Where did you get your bonnet mount pods, and how much did they cost?

Yes but air from boost wont burn, be flammable, corrosive not to mention all the other dangers.

My guages are from rocket industries they are autometer and so are the cups.

Very cheap from rocket. Cant remember how much though, but a good 30% cheaper that repco or any other accesory shop.
