I'm going to hijack this thread for one second... whats the difference between a paste and liquid... apart from the most obvious? Which do people prefer?

I know Meguiars say that there is no difference between paste and liquid for their waxes. It depends on personal preference. I prefer the liquid because I reckon it's easier to use.

I can't believe the differing opinions on the NXT! I reckon it's the bomb, but like I said there are many variables especially condition of the paint and technique. Each to their own I spose...

try using show polishes/waxes etc, then you will understand :)

I just tried Nxt Tech.. It's good stuff..

The paste is anyway. Very easy to buff off..

Hey Shounak, so you finally tried the Meg's hey? ;)

I know you were an avid supporter of Zaino before. Can I just ask which one you thought was better? Pro's and cons of each?

I've never tried Zaino, but Zymol I love.. Zymol is liquid, but the nature of it is different.. Zymol cleaner and NXT Tech are apples and oranges..

Zymol is meant to get rid of imperfections in the paint, swirls, **** and give a nice gloss. Because it's liquid, it doesn't last as long as the pastes..

NXT Tech is a semi-synthetic wax, which lasts longer but doesn't feel as glossy on the paint or give as good a shine as Zymol.

Meguairs Gold Class liquid gives the best shine of them all, not a whole lot better then Zymol Cleaner, but better. But it hardly lasts..

I tried many different products on my deep pearl burgundy Mazda, and found the liquid NXT tech wax to be the best. In the sunlight, the car had a deeper gloss than ever before. I swear by that stuff on a good metallic paint, although we'll see how it goes on the commodore this afternoon after I use some paint renovater ^^

It is obvious then that you have never used any true show car polishes/waxes/cleaners :)

Yeah, but for twenty bucks it rips the hell out of the other off-the-shelf products. It's quite expensive now, though... I'll probably get something else when this bottle runs out. It didn't do too badly on the Commodore either, but I wasn't really impressed. There's not much depth in the old VP paint-job to start with, so all it did was clean out the streaks.

Still, it shouldn't streak up.

FYI, I just waxed my car again with NXT on Saturday.

As always, I'm stoked with the result. The paint is like a mirror and so smooth that I couldn't place my polishing cloth on the bonnet without it sliding off.

Having said that, I'm open to trying other products like Zymol, Zaino and Poorboys, like others have mentioned. When this bottle runs out, I'm gonna do some research and get one of these brands. Maybe the results will be even better! Where do you get these brands from anyway?
