Is there any of those magnetic wires embedded in the road that activate the traffic lights?
Maybe that's having an effect on the car.

WL2005HBD - I commend your thoroughness !
I had a VZ sedan, that I drove in Melbourne for a few weeks each year, and I often went through that intersection, but I never noticed anything unusual.
I find it interesting that nothing happens when you are in the left lane.
The railway bridge has a lot of steel (including the rails) and electricity, and I'm wondering if it creates its own magnetic field ?
It would be interesting to see what happens if you drove north-south on Punt Road, or vice-versa, or executed a turn from Punt Rd into Brunton Ave.

One step ahead of you ;)

Tried slowing almost to a standstill at the left slip lane at Punt Rd > Brunton Ave. Nil
Tried slowing under the bridge - Nil
Tried left lane - Nil

Right lane - goes insane.

Also took a look at the road tonight, doesn't look like the sensors are exposed below the bitumen...
Has me absolutely stumped

How strange

Have you tried making sure all earth points are secure and clean. Check wiring.

Cos if doesnt happen to other cars, must be something just interfering with it.
Happens in the dry weather as well?

Get in contact with Today Tonight or A Current Affair. This will be the backbone of some story about dodgy council road maintenance and you will be famous.

I would say just electromagnetic field screwing with the wheel speed sensors as they are inductive pulse generator sensors. A scan will show what fault is being logged nevertheless

- me too !

I plan to drive to Melbourne later this year. There's a good fish & chip shop near there. I'll try to remember to pay attention when I pass through.

Try it without any pants on. There may be interference from the cotton/polyester blend.
