Yeah well obviously someone got hold off your key or someone has generated your key and found out it worked and then it's been spread all over the net and M$ have gotten on to it that it's now entered a blacklisted key database.

You just need to ring them up to re-register it now and every other time you reformat...its a pain in the ass, but just think that it gives someone a job on the other end of the line so that they can feed their 10 starving kids over in Calcutta.

    Same Story!

I have had a legitimate copy of Win XP rejected for re-activation. Rang them up and they gave me the necessary key.

Later found out that automatic updates look around for the best site, and that for a while if the Malaysia ftp was ever used, then it subsequently thought that the key was from Malaysia and highly likely to be bogus.

It was fixed, but did not endear MS to me.

C'mon guys. No talk about pirating or cracking software on here. Whilst we all know it goes on, talk of it should not be written in this forum. We are all being watched.......

    ..a little respect!

Many of us will not think twice about using a pirated copy of windows or any of Microsoft's other products. That practice has caused revenue loss for Microsoft. Travellers going to places like China routinely would buy pirated copies of Microsoft products at reduced prices. The truth is we are responsible for the restrictions put on verifying authenthic copies of windows. If we were all responsible these draconian measures would never have to be taken.

Another thing for those who thinks Windows is a **** Operating System. In 20 years because of Microsoft, we all understand the term, "Home Computer." That is a computer that is affordable and made for anyone to use. You don't need a University degree to speak to someone in London on the Internet. Like it or not, that is because of a nerd called Bill Gates. Sure, his operating system has some quirks, but I don't see people going to any other systems in droves. In truth and on average, Windows is a good operating system. Sure, Unix is powerful, but it is goddamn intimidating for the vulgate. Thank God for Bill Gates, and for Pete's sake, give the man some fricking respect before jumping on the negative bandwagon and insult him on the same medium which he afforded you. If you going to be an idiot, be one cause you chose to, not cause you following the crowd!

Well XP works better that 95 any day. I remembrer the first PC I sold with 95 (25 floppies) 2 1/2 hours to install:cry: . Ya cant stop progress no matter how bad it may run on your hardware. Turn off error reports!!! Easy done.

Bwahahaha, 25 floppies for teh win. I thought 5 or 6 for windows 3.11 was a pain inthe arse. I quite like current windows, Right now I'm listening to my favourite music, postwhoring here, fiddling with tunerpro and downloading material through my "adslsuperfastpornpipe" all at the same time. DOS just can't do that unfortunately, Linux requires a degree in computer science to setup (properly anyway) and MAC are just too proprietary. Windows kicks arse! Here's to you Gatesey!

WTF, linux requires a degree to setup properly? lol no it doesnt.

Windows is ALOT harder to setup correctly and secured correctly then any linux distro i know.
