Has it got those funky union jack tail lights?

Ex missus had supercharged version...didn't like centre dash or window switches when they were new but now kind of unique.

He was quite excited last night, asking questions about how we'll clean this, fix that etc.

He does "automotive engineering" (non ATAR) at school where they are getting taught how to work on the basics on cars, disassemble lawn mower motors etc.

They have a work shop with a couple of hoists and the teacher has 3 or 4 cars there for them to fiddle with.

The teacher had them putting the interior back into his HR the other week so he could take it over the pits lol. Nothing like free labour under cover of education.

He is also doing non-ATAR engineering (i.e. fabrication) and has been learning welding for the last couple of years. His last project was a portable hot plate / grill for use over open fires. Current project is a workshop stool that I can use for detailing. Keen to see how that turns out.

Those school projects sound great. wish they did that stuff when I was at school. All I got to make was wooden noticeboards and metal windchimes...

i must be alone here but these things (BMW Mini) just don't do it for me, they are just another hatchback. The OG Mini was a completely different beast and a hell of a lot more fun.

Bloody good price though, can't argue with that.

Wifey had the JCW manual. That was a heap of fun to drive and well built, except the front wheel drive wheel spin & understeer.

Fixed that problem with a Clubsport. haha.

JCW would be great but this will do him to start.

Nah, just standard tail lights.

Don't mind the centre dash and switches. Certainly a bit different.

They've got a pretty good set up there.

When we first went through the place on orientation, it made me want to go back to school.

Out of all the options in our price range this has a bit more character than others like Corollas, Getz etc.

But yes, the price certainly got me.

This was absolutely filthy when I got it.....inside & out.

The hard plastics were putrid with a dirty, greasy feel everywhere. So bad that after driving it I would need to wash my hands.

A bit hard to capture the filth on the phone but these give some idea.

Indicator stalk had gunky grime built up on it.

So, after getting new tyres fitted yesterday morning, off to Supercheap for 25% off Bowden's products.

Small car = so much easier to work around in the garage.

6 or so hours later, looks, feels and smells much better.

I have only given it a quick wash on the outside so hope to be attacking the paint in a week or so.

That come up a treat, can't believe the filth just on the dash and inner panels.

Is that an upgraded headunit?

Love the colour

It was disgusting.

Head unit is factory single din below the speedo.

Below that is a/c controls with window, fog and door lock switches below that.
