Hi Guys,
Hoping someone can help me avoid pulling down the motor on my 2008 SV6 to check that I don't have a chain problem!
The chains were done about 1,00K's ago and the car has been running well since then apart from having to replace the starter motor. Last week it suddenly developed a miss on cylinders 2, 4 & 6, the only codes I am getting are for the misfires, no timing codes, though I do have one for the EGR system.
I've checked all the electrical connections & earths and they all seem alright, dunno where else to look so any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Bob

A blocked cat was causing a similar issue on mine. Even had a thermometer pointed at it by exhaust place. Seemed ok. It was not.
This occurred after the chains were done. I guess what the motor goes through leading up to a problem chain isn’t the greatest for cats.

Check the earth point on the side of the motor near the header.
