Mobil 1 - 10w30 - Fully Synthetic

i have a mate that can get hold of some
MOBIL1 10w30 fully synthetic oil in a 20L drum for $300,
and some MOBIL1 0w40 fully synthetic same price,
and MOBIL SynthS (SuperS - same thing) 10w40 semi synthetic in a 20L drum for $100.
and im just wondering if people recommend running fully synthetic in an sv6? if this a good price? and if it is, is anyone else interested? BRISBANE AREA

they say the 10w30 is best suited for the v6 (95- on) and v8 (5.7L - on) holden motors

Hey impulse,

I run Mobil 1 15w/50 fully synthetic in my SV6.

A Holden dealership advised me to run fully synth. so that's what I use, mind you this was the same dealership that told me they don't replace oil filters on intermediate services..

I get mine changed every 7500kms and on the servicing invoices the oil is costed at $60 for 5litres.

hey twb1979,
id be checking with the dealership about how much oil they are replacing, because in the car manual Chapter 8-2 . the refill oil capacity is stated at 6.4L including filter


i rang the dealer where i bought the car and they said $110 an intermediate service including filter, and they use Mobil S 10w30 (non synthetic)
