Hi
1st & 2nd coats of high fill on today.
Showed up plenty of holes & imperfections.
5 weeks so far. Getting sick of it.
But slowly getting there.
Made it one piece. When putting back together, l would always mark the paint work.
Before l started l made a dummy 1 piece to see if it would work. It did.

Hi
Here's a couple of more photos.
I'm going to to repaint the power window switch block. That is why its not sitting flush.
The photos were taken a few seconds apart. The lighter blue is more what it looks like.
Thanks for looking.
Lex

Hi
Latest mod is the Astra electric power steering pump = (epsp).
It feels different to the standard system.
Definitely has more get up & go.
Hoping the fuel consumption will be a lot better.
Had to remove the air box to fit the epsp.
I used 10mm steel plate & a ribbed idler pulley, so as to be able to run a standard belt.
Used stainless steel braid from pump to rack. I tried using of the shelf aluminium fittings (rated at 3000 lb psi). But thanks to my stupidity, they kept parting. I went to enz hose fittings. They are made of steel & are crimped. They are rated to 3000 lbs psi too.
I also have a electric water pump = (ewp) & a controller.
That will be fitted next week.
Can't load photos at the moment. Will load later.

Because l can. HA ha ha.
A few reasons, my pump was on its way out. Sourcing parts for a 20 year old car.
Take the load of the engine. It gets up goes now. Hopefully better when l put the electric water pump on. The electric water pump has a read out & alarm that will tell me when the old girl is getting hot.
And putting some 21 st century **** on my car.
But mainly because l can & because l'm bored shitless.
