Hi, well done looks like you been doing a lot to your ride, I noticed and thought I would mention that on the pulleys, main concern is the idle tensioner notice the old marks and how your belt is sitting more to the front watch out for that one as they can de-rail themselves. Other then that keep up the good work :)

    20180405_111617[1].jpg 20180405_111728[1].jpg Hi
About to start another project. Its the 6 speed auto.
Got from wreckers on the other side of the bay from where l live.
Where l live wreckers wanted about $850.00 approximately, 30 days warranty.
I got mine for $750.00 & 1 year warranty. Also tranny is only supposedly got 71000 km on it.
The tranny is out of a sv6 2010 ve utility. ID letters on box OBRA.
Hope it doesn't take a year to finish. Realistically 3 or 4 months.
I think my main problem will be to mate it up to the v6 ecotec?
I know about the TCM. I think l have that sorted? Time will tell?
    The fun & headaches begin.
Sorry about the photos being up side down.
To anybody who has done the conversion l'd be interested in any input.
    Thanks Lex

    Thanks devilly.
    I wouldn't have started, if l didn't think l could do it.
If l can't, l'll just sell it, & recoup some of my cash.
Gives me something to think about & do.
And hopefully no damage done. ha ha ha

    Hi
I have been getting some vibrations in my car. Thinking tailshaft centre bearings, unis, maybe even coilpacks.
Bit the bullet yesterday & jacked car then put car on stands. First thing that jumped out in front of me was the rear passenger tyre.
Looked like the tyre was coming of the rim. Wasn't, tyre was bolging.
New tyre & $125.00 later all good.

I rebuilt my brakes. Used protex rotors & brake pads.
Also put seal kits & pistons in all calipers. Also replaced the brake hoses with Safe Brakes stainless steel braided brake hoses.
I had a spare set of calipers, o wire brushed them. Cleaned the internals of the calipers, re sealed them, masked & painted them.
Then a week or two later l put them on the car.
    Brakes are heaps better.
I used to have a shudder in the steering wheel when braking. I was told it was the rear rotors. Apparently that was the problem.
    No shudder now.

    Hi
More on electric water pump. Went to Melb. on the 1st. December. Controller shat itself. Noticed some smoke coming from it, pulled over, took cover of it, & disconnected it. Wasn't far from my destination, so kept going. Went home on the train, got some tools & a mechanical pump & came back on the 3rd Dec. to fix. All good. Called into Davies Craig on the way home. Got another controller. Pump & controller have a 2 year warranty. Made another header plate (replaces mechanical pump) & installed that & controller a couple of Saturdays ago. All good (l drove to Wagga with it).

Went to Wagga last week. Had some more of #48 driving up there. It was getting worse coming back.
Decided to put the old Berlina mags on. First wheel of, was front left, l thought the beading on it was suss, but not that bad. Front right ok.
Then took of rear right of. That wheel is the problem.

Visited the engineer today, who is making my adaptor plate for 6 speed auto 6l50. Surprise surprise it was finished after 5 months.
I wanted to put a 8 speed in. Couldn't get a controller for it. All the companies that make the controllers, that say they make them, don't. Not enough demand.
Anyway, mechanically that is a milestone over came.
I'll order the controller from the US in maybe a month.

Talked to a company about making a tailshaft last year. Thats another job.
    Slowly getting there.
