I have the guards, bonnet & bumper on now.
Can't get the panel alignment like l had.
But at the moment, l've had enough. So possibly it will stay this way?

I also wet sanded & polished, then 2k with clear the headlights. I put all new globes in too.

When the the paint has had a chance to fully dry & harden, l'll cut & polish. See how it goes.

Not the best job, but i've never really done anything like this before.

It looks better than what it use to, in my opinion.

Here is some pics of the tranny setup & neutral safety switch of the 4l60 on the 6l50.
How l've set the trans coolant lines. Also how the tranny & adaptor plate looks all bolted together.

I've also included a pic of infra red thermometer. I was using this thermometer to fill the trans with dex v1.
I checked the level last weekend, but l used the TCU program for measuring temp. When the TCU program was reading 56 degrees c. the infra red thermometer was reading 32 degrees c. Previously when filling the trans l would be just starting to fill the trans (going by the infra red thermometer). I should have already finished filling by then.

The workshop manual states when filling the trans, the temp should be at 30 degrees c. Stop filling if the temp should reach 50 c or over & wait for it to cool down (this is if you haven't reached the full mark yet).View attachment 211495View attachment 211497View attachment 211498View attachment 211499View attachment 211500View attachment 211506View attachment 211507View attachment 211495 View attachment 211497 View attachment 211498 View attachment 211499 View attachment 211500 View attachment 211506 View attachment 211507
In this, you’ve used the VX neutral saftey switch yeah?
Does this differ from how @CWG did his 6L80?

Also you used the VF shifter. I’m going to go back through this, but have you got the manual shift functions sussed? Wondering where he has gone wrong with his VF shifter not having the manual shift function working.

With the 6lxx series trannies use a relay for reverse & neural saftey switch. The auto electrian l used wired both correctly, but the neutral saftey switch would only work sometimes. Reverse worked all the time.
Anyway l had been looking at 6l50 & noticed mounting areas that were similar to the 4l60. I also noticed that the selector shaft was shorter on the 6l50. So what l did was weld a bolt to the nut that would bolt the selector shaft on the outside of the lever, & simply bolted 4l60 neutral safety switch to it. The 4l60 wiring harness was still in place & working.
Here is a pic of the 4l60 neutral switch bolted to the 6l50 tranny.

In anwser to your question about the paddle shifter, no l haven't attempted it yet. But l have been thinking about it.
I also have to wire & program B calibration (towing mode or l think maybe called sports mode) it just holds gear a little longer.
I'm thinking of just wiring to the 4l60 power putton as its already there.

I have no idea how cwg wired anything?

So you don’t have active select available on the shifter either?
