What is the headunit you used
Something cheap (a no name brand, which is still going 4 years later) l got from China. At the time about $300.00.

That first one l put in was $600.00 from somewhere near Brighton? Cant remember the suburb.

Great work mate!
Thanks.
I keep thinking of other projects to do to it. But think naa, just drive it!
But some of the projects l've done anyway (ex. 6L50 conversion).

I'm been thinking of turboing the old girl (thinking this for a while now) but naa, l'll just drive it. ;)

Hi
The centre piece hasn't fitted well, so l finally got pissed of with it. Had another go at. Cut it all up into sections, & weld it all back , Get it filed, sanded & hi filled. Fits perfect. Painted it & now dosen't fit perfect anymore. It'll have to do for now. I'm sick of it.
Got other projects to do.
Talking of projects, l saw another member has painted his dash & steering wheel trims. Looks good. We both have the same dash. (wh Statesman).

Anyway when putting the vf shifter in, there wasn't really anywhere l could locate the power & traction control buttons, without ruining the vf chrome shifter surround. So, l mounted on the left of the fog lights button on the dash. Here is a pic.
Changed the blue that goes around the centre piece too.

There are other pieces l have to find, clean, wire in & whatever l have to do. Slowly getting there.
Here is a couple of pics.

And the steering wheel, how cool
Is that, VE ?.
That would of taken some engineering, for the turn signals and the airbag connection and the correct resistance.

I stand corrected,
it’s a VF steering wheel,
@Lex do the buttons work ?

Yes, the buttons for the head unit work, right hand side. Left hand side, cruise control, no not connected. Haven't tried to connect them. Probably wont try.
Airbag & indicator cancellation doesn't work either.

Hopefully will start on those parts soon.

Noticed the manual part of the shifter doesn't work. So will try & figure that out. Then get the paddle shifter working.

I think manual shifting & the paddle shifter will come first? I'm hoping that might be the easiest? Bit of programming in the tcu?

Can only keep trying? I've started something, so l'll try & finish it? :)
