mine is the same as your except with the bonnet - tbh I think it adds so much, always get heaps of compliments too which is nice for a 15 going on 16 year old car :) monaro porn below for your perusal.

I wasn't a huge fan of the coupe tbh - the front and rear bars weren't the nicest.

So I've seen a few posts on threads that aren't exactly/ strictly speaking build related but but beers ,appreciating cars , working on cars , fixing cars ,mates around cars = none of these are always a good idea but = disaster but always also go hand in hand = good times .
So here's one santa came early this year

First brew = not bad at all / even if I do say so myself and if it's as I calculated 4.5% then all the the commercial brewers lie and they're nowhere near the % they say they are.
If you don't try to replicate your favorite commercial beer and you like your craft beer or as my misses likes to say designer beer and like to experiment you'll like this . I'm looking forward to to this = it's going to be fun.

Back in August , probably two or three weeks after I did the FWD bushes in the rear K frame I decided to to get a Harrop sports diff cover and it's been sitting hear waiting for me to get I finger out , which I did today. Removed old cover and fitted new one , oil was way overdue on changing as well.
Took it for a quick spin after and all seems good, although I'm going to book it in to get K frame and wheel alignments checked.
Here's a few photos

New cover all installed

Just got back from a week away , used monaro to go visit sister and her family and mum in south east QLD for Christmas , also stayed in Coffs Harbour for two nights on way back.
Dam it's so easy to overtake slower cars in this thing.
Brother in law drove it, he's got a ba falcon xr6 , what surprised me is he said xr6 was floaty in steering and handling compared to the monaro.
I had washed it then clay bared and waxed it the week before I went which I recon was a good move because even though I went through a few showers and it was parked outside at mums and got rained on , it was still looking surprisingly clean this morning.

Bit different now but , it does need a wash , quite alot of light rain and lots of traffic on the Pacific Hwy . Dam that's boring road with quite a lot of clowns on it.

Well finally some decent progress, CVs had not been good for a while and handling still not quite right.
So cars been on 4 jack stands for about 8 weeks at least.
Decided to do all the front bushes ( although I haven't done sway bar D bushes).
When I pulled out struts and decided to clean springs and strut boot found that drivers strut sank 6" in 4 minutes ( there's some of my handling issues) , so new struts. I wasn't going to go with KONIs and rung up about KYBs , was told they do adjustable ones. When I finally got a price on them ,their only $50 cheaper than the KONIs so bit the bullet and got rebuildable / adjustable konis.
They're inserts so had to modify my struts.
Front's just about done , just need to torque up front radius rods and put wheels back on.
CVs are in just need to rehang exhaust as I dropped it to install passengers side CV . Also change gearbox oil while it's on 4 stands.

Got the rest of it back together , just need to check tomorrow that gearbox isn't weeping from drain or fill plugs.
Hopefully get a wheel alignment this coming Friday or the next.
Took it for a short spin around a big block, very happy ,all seems good, steers well, goes great, I recon the CVs must have been diluting the power to the ground because it certainly seems a bit better .
More than happy with the KONIs , on their softest setting they don't seem really any different to standard, although probably a bit early to judge , didn't hit any bad roads , it really was only a few kms, but they certainly don't seem to be harsh.

Thanks , yeah love them although they weren't always on the radar for me . In fact back in 2006 when I was first moving up to Newcastle I thought if things work out I'd get a nice Calais. I ended up looking at a few monaros but nothing eventuated. When I met my current misses she's going get a thunder ute . Didn't get one of them but got a really beautiful Delph blue vu ss , black leather, 6 sp ,low kms well looked after.
Then this came up at local Holden dealer ( wasn't even really looking ), traded the vu for the monaro. Don't regret my decision , will keep the monaro forever, do miss that ute though, ( untill I drive the monaro or go to the garage and stare at it) can't complain but traded ute for what I bought it for.

Got monaro wheel aligned today, local O'Neils, couple of kms walk home , start changing crankset rings , chain, cassette and a good clean , this treadly has done 6k more in almost 6 years than buell has done in almost 11years , ( that might be sad actually, well not really I love using both).
Anyway I pick up monaro and young bloke working there goes you need to supercharge it ( not sure if he knew but I'm sure he was hoping to start a conversation about Holdens etc ) , I go it is , he goes I didn't know ,you can't hear it .
Turns out he has a vy clubsport with a scoll type supercharger, he recons you know 2 streets away when it fires up.
When I first supercharged it that's what I wanted ( atention, you know this is going to be tuff) but I haven't gone any further in 3 years because (I like) , he didn't even know when it's in a workshop , so on the street ,at a set of lights , roundabout , or just up a hill , are you going to know, if I haven't spanked your ase I've at least got you questioning is my car as good as I thought, did that stock looking/ sounding v2 monaro really go that well.
