    Hot tip its illegal...

You need a metal hole saw or jig saw.

Local auto shop will have all piping required (intercooler or just air flex style)

    aZk.

I have done exactly what you wanna do. I have a VP senator front bar, i kept the original factory airbox on there with no filter inside and left the lid on so if anyone pops my bonnet it looks factory, you can't see my pod set up unless you full lock the tyres and stick your face in the front bar in front of the left tyre), cut a hole in the bottom of the airbox through the guard (which isn't illegal in VIC as that guard isn't structural, it's kinda of a grey area legal wise) and properley and very securely mounted a piece of angle pipe and a piece of 90mm PVC pipe with the pod attached to it, the pod sits dead at a factory gap in my front bar (part of the front bar design).

You have to clean your poddy alot more, but i tell you, it's worth it.

Dont put your pod in the bumper dude. my mate did that with his VP. When Adelaide had a huge downpour a few years ago the top of south rd flooded. he was heading up the hill and was suddenly faced with a massive puddle at 60 km/h, splash thru it.. and motor died. It sucked thru a huge amount of water! Its not worth the risk for such little gain.

If anything.. put the airbox back in with a hi flow panel filter, just plumb some flexi pipe from under the airbox to behind the bumper. Just make sure the flexi pipe has several bends in it so that it is hard for water (if any) to get up in the air box. Thats the setup i have, better then any pod ive ever fitted!

Oh, and when you get defected.. cover the hole up with steel plate, rivet them down and paint the area with body deadener. Its got me thru regency 4 times!

Hence why i made sure there are several bends in my piping for my pod filter, and part of the piping that runs up into the airbox is vertical. I have hit huge puddles and haven't had a problem. Just make sure you make sure some of the piping is vertical.

Plus i have a VP senator front bar, there is a nice little area where it sits, lots of air in there, not much crap and water can get up behind the bar because of the way it is moulded.

I took it out to clean it with a K&N kit last night, hardly any crap in there at all, haven't cleaned it in over a month.\

I used to have a K&N flat panel filter with the box with 90mm piping to a scoop in the front bar, but it didn't have the same tight throttle feeling as the pod gives. I get much better response from the pod, but it gives nice kick from all the cold air it gets from the front bar. Because there is the hole in the front bar that VP senator bars have, it gets the full brunt of the cold air when the car is going forward as the air hits the pod directly.

The guard aint were you need to cut the hole mate under the airbox is structural as it cant be removed from the car without cutting it off.
