The services weren't stamped, just date and km's filled in.

Just rang Mazda HQ, fed them the rego number.

The dates and km's on the logs match their database, they gave me the name of the mazda dealer that serviced it. Rang the dealer to confirm same numbers and was told just to drop by with the book and they will stamp it as they most likely forgot to do it first time round.

It wasn't a big issue for me as its a relatively new car and its condition matches the km's, I just wanted to confirm the details.

All good :yeah:

Very good choice on getting a 3.
Very good value on the new ones at the moment as well at under 20k......Base model of course, but still has plenty of bells and whistles on it.......New 3 is on the way and is on sale in the USA now, so it can't be long.

Yeah prices are dropping now cos the new ones are coming.

Haven't looked to see if a MPS is confirmed.

Dropped the car off this morning at the turbo and tuning workshop near my work for a minor service and its been given a perfect bill of health.

They recommended sticking to the 6 monthly service intervals and dropping the km intervals to 5,000km (instead of Mazda's 10,000km). They look after quite a few MPS's and reckon they almost always blow the turbo seals at around 70,000km if the oil is not changed religiously. They reckon they have also seen a few Ford XR6 turbos with the same issue.

Good news is its totally preventable with regular oil changes.

The cx-7 which is the same engine as far as I know as the mps blow turbos all the time if the oil isn't changed religiously, don't get many mps 3's with that problem.

But I still like to change my oil every 5000, the 6 month timeframe is just a way to keep making money in my opinion. (I do about 1000kms a week so I don't get anywhere close to 6 months haha)

Beaurepaires never got back to me, however Bridgestone did.

$695 per wheel including tyre fitting and balancing. Tyres extra of course. So $2780 + maybe $1200 for tyres = $3980 local price.

TireRack quote for the same wheels and a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports is around AU$3350 landed at my door.

These wheels are currently on sale at Tire Rack, which would work out to around $2800 to my door with taxes paid.

So I went and placed a order and last night I get an email from Tire Rack saying that Oz Racing will not allow them to export their products out of the USA, which means we are stuck with bend-over-and-take-it-up-the-arse pricing from the Australian distributors. Typical. Anyway fark the the distributor, I won't buy on principal. They are $329 in the States and about $700 here.

Back to the drawing board.

Is going good - haven't driven it much as I have been away for work, and the missus prefers to park my GV at the bus stop so her MPS doesn't get scratched hehe. Going to get booked in next week or the week after to get the wheels sprayed and colour matched to the front smiley insert. Don't know what exact colour it is, a dark grey with a hint of blue in it.

Going to be taking it for a road trip to Sydney at Xmas. After that get it serviced and get a set of the JBR Trilogy mounts and short shift plate and bushes installed.
