Boot is ace, doglegs are rusted through, but it hasn't spread. The cowls are ace, and two of the doors (presumably exposed to rain in a carport) have been replaced and are brand new. The other two doors are 100%. Passenger side floor has about five square inches of rust, and driver's side is mint once again. Window gutters are mostly untouched, except for the front window chambers as greenfoam mentioned.
hehehe it wasn't too bad joe ^_^ Got the old girl sitting in the driveway idling. Going to take her for a quick spin up and down the street in a minute. It's good to get her out from under the covers every few weeks - keeps my motivation up
Man, I know what you mean......its inspiring. But gees.....wish I could take mine for a quick spin up the street...... Soon hopefully.......
dude, i got a trade plate if you ever wanna be responsible and take her for a nice drive to blow all the cobwebs out
I agree apart from ide go lower :whistling but perfect example of an HQ there oldschool is cool i might have to pull some of my pics out the archive from back in the days of HQing everywhere
I've been shopping 2x front shocks 2x rear shocks 6x spark plugs 1x oil filter 1x bottle of thick oil 12x cans of degreaser That should get the ball rolling. Parts arrive tomorrow, pics to follow over the weekend, and more parts to follow over coming months
The idea is to get her on the road early next year Problem is, I've got the restoration bug ^_^ I just intended to change the shocks and give her a quick service, but now I've got the brake calipers off for an overhaul, I want to redo all the brake lines, and now that I've seen the state of the ball joints I want to refresh every bush and ball in the damn thing. Here's some pics of just how FILTHY the underside of the car was
After a few hours work today, The front suspension is out, Ready for new bushes/tie rod ends/ball joints etc. etc.... 1 Bolt is still seeming tedious, the closest to the front on the driverside, wishbone bolt, It has rusted on the inside, So that has proved some hassle but I'm sure we'll get it! Cheers MaT
lol - I'm getting nostalgic again..... Just a point - have you checked the chassis on the inside of the rear lower wishbone mount for cracking - nearly all of them do it. Reaper
Yeh, check what Reaper said, although 99% of the time the stock height 6 cylinder cars don't do it unless they have been given a real bashing all there life. V8, lowered is a different story. Thats not a carby, thats a piece of garden hose
lol at the single stromberg there remember morton i have a mate with quite a few old yella terra heads lying around if your keeping the 6 i might be able to get one for you
