damn, you lucky prick:thumbsup: i had the opportunity many years ago for a 1 owner HQ similar to this but a off white type colour, but didn't have the funds at the time. was mint bar i spot of rust around a rear window.

It's lovely , about as good a original HQ as you could ever find for that money nearly 40 years later. I vote for surface rust removal 400 SBC, turbo 350 driveline and slide around on the bench seat forever onward

Dad had a white one with kidney beans and the rear window thingy...

Also did a charcoal one which is now my desktop lol

What would you remove man ?, these things didn't come from the factory with any spare bits that did nothing, they don't have body deadner or any of that rubbish (they are much lighter than the VQ while have twice as thick sheet metal and a full chasis)

Cheers guys It's not going on gas (lol), if anything I'll just keep the 202 for a while, 'till I rebuild a suitable SBC. The restore bug is already here once I get it RWc, the interior retrim begins!

No jenny craig though. There's no weight to lose really! I'm going to try and keep it as original as possible. It doesn't need to handle well or go through hills. It just needs to be a HQ, and I'll love it.

Yeah, the 202 will stay for a short while. But only for as long as it takes me to decide on, and build an appropriate engine. The jury is still out on what engine goes in there!

You're not wrong about them never going out of fashion HQs were the best damn looking car from that era, hands down.

its nice car for 37 years old, took morton to pick it up today.
whacked a battery in started straight up with the choke off had his foot on the high beams switch though.

hahaha yeah, it starts so nicely Just started it then, and it was running before I even finished turning the key

Ahhh... yeah, I always thought I'd regret this if I didn't buy it. So I HAD to get it. I always wanted a HQ in this colour - I couldn't say no when I saw it for sale! It's like a dream come true ALWAYS wanted one.

I found out the colour: Taormina Aqua Metallic. It's beautiful. Gonna be hard to paint it though I hate painting metallics! lol
