Well, the wintery weather got here before I finished, and lacking a garage, I've decided I need a carport.

So I'm going to "build" one for the HQ to live in over winter while I work on it.

required equipment:

4x 60 litre drums (free)
4x tall poles (free)
2x 5 metre lengths of 6mm steel rod ($7)
3x large tarpaulins ($25)
4x bags of quick-set cement ($20)

And hopefully I should have a complete carport by the end of tomorrow :)

Work has begun. Those cross-braces go straight through the vertical poles. They make it nice and sturdy :) There's also a set of three cross-braces down the bottom in the cement.

Morton a real big wind will pull those poles over so make sure you failproof that, or unhook the roof if a big storm comes, a pole to the roof wouldn't be good

lol those polls couldn't even hold the tarps weight, wasn't enough concrete :p they are now full of water and the tarp is all setup and 6 milk crates on the roof of the HQ to give it a tip in the middle to make all the rain run off :)

Now he has no excuse not to start welding later on today :)
