Nice view of a cut away VP :) secret rails of many strengths inside the sills! I had often wondered if that's how the rear end stayed attached to the front :), can you drill some holes in the inside sill and bash it the re-enforcment straight with a punch of some kind?

Edit I see its allready straight in another of the pictures :)

wow, what a job(that isnt finished yet!!)

mortons on his way home now, then off to work, poor bugger, 24hrs hes been up i think he said.

all in all, i think it was a successful day. hes coming back next week, when we'll finish welding the gaps that are left. luckily theyre outside the door seal area, so she wont leak. needs a bit of paint too, and some more hinge straightening. but the doors shut, so thats a start.

    pics time

wow looks a lot better. A good job and cost effective it looks too. Did the floor part that looks bent behind the sill get fixed or did you just weld the new sill over it?
Anyway i suppose it wont make much difference. With a bit of paint you wouldn't notice without a close inspection. Good job guys

hahaha, just got home. I had to stop for a powernap on the way, because I was shagged.

I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out - you know, for a couple of wankers with a grinder, a mig, and no idea. As hakhawk said, I'll be returning next week for some good touchups and a proper welding job :p

But yeah - for now, totally drivable, and I don't have to go spend a billion dollars at the panelbeaters!

Grey door? No issue. This car's all about go, and only a little bit about looks ^^ At the end of the day, it's all the better if people think it's a junkpile - then I blast them away :D
