Cheers for the addy marcus And wow, immortality... that's CHEAP ^^ haha Really appreciate the offer Paradox, but I've already gone out and spent $40 on a door >.< lol we'll see what happens, I'm off to see Troy right now! lol, off to Moe I go I'll update on progress when I get back \o/
Nice view of a cut away VP secret rails of many strengths inside the sills! I had often wondered if that's how the rear end stayed attached to the front , can you drill some holes in the inside sill and bash it the re-enforcment straight with a punch of some kind? Edit I see its allready straight in another of the pictures
wow, what a job(that isnt finished yet!!) mortons on his way home now, then off to work, poor bugger, 24hrs hes been up i think he said. all in all, i think it was a successful day. hes coming back next week, when we'll finish welding the gaps that are left. luckily theyre outside the door seal area, so she wont leak. needs a bit of paint too, and some more hinge straightening. but the doors shut, so thats a start. pics time from this: to this:
Not bad for a couple of hacks in the sticks. From write off this afternoon to back in action tonight
very nice work people, cant wait for it to be back up to scratch, ill keep an eye out for the right colour door while im at the wreckers sometime in the next few days for ya.
wow looks a lot better. A good job and cost effective it looks too. Did the floor part that looks bent behind the sill get fixed or did you just weld the new sill over it? Anyway i suppose it wont make much difference. With a bit of paint you wouldn't notice without a close inspection. Good job guys
was beyond straightening with the little tools we had on hand, so we just welded over it. will straighten the seal strip next week.
Whoa great work guys, its lookin heaps better!!!!! Love the silver door too, its tuff. Bet ur a bit happier now daniel.... I think you owe hakhawk a beer or 100 by now lol. Cant wait for it to be back to scratch again!
haha, he was rapped when he left!! lol, a beer wouldve gone down well, tho wine was discussed at one stage in the day(inside joke )
Shifters were made for just that purpose in life! since well all know they are no good for doing up bolts
christ your server is slow troy! you guys should have rung me, would have come round for the fix-it sesh... ohhh, looking good now mate, back to setting sometimes.... maybe after a lick of paint. aZk.
hahaha, just got home. I had to stop for a powernap on the way, because I was shagged. I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out - you know, for a couple of wankers with a grinder, a mig, and no idea. As hakhawk said, I'll be returning next week for some good touchups and a proper welding job But yeah - for now, totally drivable, and I don't have to go spend a billion dollars at the panelbeaters! Grey door? No issue. This car's all about go, and only a little bit about looks ^^ At the end of the day, it's all the better if people think it's a junkpile - then I blast them away
not REALLY... lol, just wait 'till yous all see it on Friday night ^^ lmao I should get a job as an axe murderer.
