Hi guys,

I want to tidy up the tray of a VR Ute.

Was wondering what the most durable type of paint is available. I was thinking of just painting it black as it is a dark coloured ute.

The paint must be durable to scratches and heat as i will have a big Ridgeback bouncing around in the back. The tray won't have to be a perfect finish, just a decent tidy up.

Suggestions?

Do a flake apoxy in the back of the ute, Mate of mine did it to his hilux, he did an apoxy pack coating with black and white flakes. Set hard as a rock and looks good.

Dont use epoxy as a topcoat, epoxy fades when exposed to UV.

Start with a Zinc Rich epoxy primer and top it with polyurethane in the colour of your choice. Think outside the box and consider that paint can be purchased at high quality from other sources, try looking up "industrial coatings"
