Have just bought 6.2l Sportwagon Calais and need to replace tyres. Looking for good recognised brand and nice and quiet. Good allround tyre for wet and Dry.
Anybody have any input/experience on what best suit and best deal at moment 245/40/19

Cheers

This will be highly subjective... suggest you do a bit of reading on threads that already exist on the forum for ideas. Michelin PS4S, Bridgestone RE003 or 050A (the factory tyre for the Sv6 and SS), are considered the popular ones on here.

Eg. Same as your story:
https://forums.justcommodores.com.a...e-to-replace-the-bridgestone-turanzas.273495/

And:

https://forums.justcommodores.com.a...-35-20-x-4-285each.270532/page-3#post-2960725

https://forums.justcommodores.com.a...sponse-as-re050s-or-so3s.273542/#post-2991480

Deals will vary - best to checkup the main ones like Michelin and Bridgestone time to time for things such as buy 3 get one free etc.

Check out
https://www.tyresales.com.au/
Seeing you are from Vic, they have a lot of fitting places around the state,
I saved $210 for a full set of Bridgestone T001 fitted, balanced and wheel alignment for my 2002 VY for $769 in June 2018 [being a Private Car] These are great, nice and quiet and track straight.
Last year I had a set of ZETA tyres fitted and balanced on my 2012 VE S2 Sportwagon for $540 [cheapies] [no wheel alignment],
they do what they used for and wear reasonably well, [being work car]
the tyre fitter said, these are Tradies Tyres.

VF Calais V LS3 series 2 wagon
Following the recommendations of others on the forum, I purchased Kuhmo Ecsta KU 39 tyres from Tyresales. Great price, quiet on the road, work well. Got 42,000 ks out of the originals with 8,000 of that towing an Ecotourer caravan. The Tyresales purchase and fitting system is excellent.
Was set to buy Michelins, but these Kuhmos look good, so far.

VE SSV Z Series M6
I fitted Pirelli Dragon Sports to my VE mid last year.

Very happy with them so far.....good grip wet & dry and good for noise as well.

The prices on Tyresales as mentioned by @Mik 030 look pretty good too. I paid way more than that but was in a hurry to get them replaced.

Would buy them again.....esp at the Tyresales price.
