Does anyone here ride motorbikes? If so what type of riding and any stories?

I'm keen to get back on a motorbike. I crashed my rmz 450 in 2010 and broke my leg, 4 screws and a bar

I used to have a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675, she was an amazing bit of kit I must admit...rode her from Perth over to cairns, hung around cairns for a bit over a year but then threw her in a crate for the trip home while I flew.
[IMG] damn I miss her so very very much

Also used to have a 2005 Yamaha r1 which I only ever used as a track bike, I swear that was insanely fast but I felt more comfy on the 675 and could get a faster lap time around wannaroo here in Perth. Got no pics of it though.

I was riding for a number of years till a crash in 2009 involving a P plater pulling out in front of me. :upyours: This ended my days of being on 2 wheels, kinda broke a hell of a lot of things plus getting a head injury which has rendered my left arm utterly useless :bang:

Miss it like crazy and still encourage ppl to get onto a bike every occasion I can

That bike looks awesome, would have been a mad ride from Perth to carins.
Sorry to hear about your arm mate

Im on my Ps and have a Yamaha R15. If anyone wants to buy it let me know. :)

Have rode dirt bikes since i was 5. Most recent bike was a KTM 350 - so freaking good.

I was practicing endos once at a training school and some idiot was flying around not doing them and smacked into me whilst my rear wheel was of the ground. Tore the lifaments in my ankle. Nothing major but thats probably the worst thats happened to me so far. Look forward to hearing other's stories though cuz its so easy to have a buster on a bike

I have only had trail bikes.

    First one was a 1991 Yamaha DT200R 2 Stroke.

The I sold it, and now I have a 2006 Suzuki DR-Z 400E 4 Stroke, and have had it since new. I took it out last weekend and it has just clicked over to 1900kms lol.

    My accident left me with the following;

6 broken ribs - 2 of which punctured my left lung
shattered hip - fixed with 2 titanium plates and 9 titanium screws (still there for at least another 15 years or so until i need to get a hip replacement)
fractured bottom 5 vertebra in my spine - L1 through L5
    fractured both shoulders
ruptured spleen - huge scar as they had to remove what was left of that bad boy
bruising & bleeding to the back right side of my brain - caused left side hemiplegia but after intense physio, speech and occupational therapy its now just left side Hemiparesis
    kidney,bladder and stomach damage too

    yep has been fun :)

Used to ride this til I threw it into a ditch at $1.20+
    [IMG]
Also had this a little while ago but sold it to fund other things. A new one will be being added back to the garage in the next month or so though

Last moto I rode was a Postie when I was about 14. My mates and I used to flog the **** out of it and I remember one time popping a mono so sweet the exhaust scraped the pavement and sparks flew out.

    Best Thread Ever

I work for Harley-Davidson, so naturally am into bikes, especially when horsepower and Drag-racing is involved
my current bike is only the Third I have owned. 2002 Softail Deuce, I spent every last cent I had at the time to buy it when I was 24.

I take it racing often, Got second at Meremere's track series last summer, (hoping for first this year.)
Custom paint Job (over 180 Grim Reapers) enough Chrome, and sufficient (for now) engine mod's.

    Also for interest:
The fastest bike I have ridden is a 2011 XL1200X (Sportster 48) with Trask turbo and Nitrous, but picture file is too large to upload sorry.

    I've got a 89 Yamaha FZR1000

no big stories to tell. I did come off my FZR250 at about 60kph through a roundabout once. Bike had been sitting around for a while and I hadn't checked tyre pressures. I took it out through my favourite roundabout, tipped it in fairly hard. Front washed away with no warning. Bike slid out from under me, it slid and exited the left side of the roundabout, hit a traffic island and flipped onto it's other side. Meanwhile I slid on my arse through the roundabout. Fortunately I had my wallet in my back pocket of the jeans because the road tore through the jeans and into the wallet. The coins in the wallet saved my butt cheek lol ;)
Bike was fairly scratched up, a couple of broken bits, but I managed to ride it home. Apart from skin hanging off the hands and elbows, I actually faired ok. I checked the tyre pressures later, front was down to 18psi...... lesson to be learned!

i ride a yamaha ttr 250, heavy and gutless but its good enough, got it brand new in 08 i think it was, never been registerd just ridden around the farm, nearly ready for its 7000k service, never busted myself good bent my handle bars chasing roos in the scrub, hit a log in long grass and spat me off sort of went over and around the handle bars landed on my knees and just skidded along, rode the 10ks home with the end of my bars halfway to the fuel tank, these days if the bike going down im not going with it lol, logs and strainer posts are the worst things to hit
