    Hey guys

Contemplating in a purchase on a VF ssV.. At the moment I iv got a ve ss series 2 manual my12 with only 68000 on the clock..

    My thoughts are
1 Keep my ve ss fully stock and sell it and save my money towards the vf mods

2 buy a second hand vf ssv and put lite mods eg exhaust, otr, and tune that's it

Who has done this before?? is there really a big difference with both models, il be test driving one this weekend and il see how I go

.. the VF is a world ahead of the VE

interior alone is worth the move

VF is a totally different car to the VE. I have owned both and it's chalk and cheese. VF is far better

As im looking at getting a new VF S2 SSV in a year or so what are the main differences that make it chalk and cheese from my current VE S2 SSV besides the obvious interior change?

The new electric steering is awesome - and let's face it when the interior is so much different it feels like a different car. Gearbox is better sorted too imo. Rear also feels more planted. I drove a VF SV6 around country Tassie and just loved it. I actually do not like driving VE's at all.

I agree with the pro-VF sentiment.

I currently have an MY12.5 and MY14 SV6 manual. I mainly drive the VF, and one son drives the VE. However, when I drive the VE, I think it is still good, but well short of the VF. I absolutely love the electric power steering over the old hydraulic one. The VF is also somewhat more refined in all areas.

I have had a VE Calais Series I and a Walkinshaw enhanced VE SSV Series II....and I was debating going from a blown VE SS-V to the VF Redline....let's just say, I've never looked back! VF (even series I which is what mine is) is great to drive especially with extra fruit Holden threw in there! A little more horsepower with the Series II would be nice!

I have had every Calais from VT onwards to VZ. Refused to get the VE as the interior was awful in my mind.... So I bought a g6e turbo, but the VF interior is sensational (especially in a Calais with cream leather!)

Couldn't agree more! The VE interior sucks, it wasn't till the VF that I finally left Ford as a distant memory.

Sell yours and sign up for a VF2 redline my friend. If I hadn't gone down the full on mod path with my series 2 VE and it was still relatively stock like yours there is no doubt id be upgrading to a VF2 based Ls3 V8.

Don't even waste your time touching your VE or contemplating a VF1 as they have the same L77 inferior v8. Just to straight to a Vf2 Ls3.

Inferior? I'd hardly call a VF1 inferior to a VF2, if the numbers I've read are right you're looking at a 3 percent power increase. VF2 slightly better sure but not a comparison id call the latter inferior. For the price you can get a VF1 now it's well worth it as well if you don't want to spend as much.

Big call calling the 6.0 litre inferior. It has a lot of advantages over the LS3

The early models are capable of running E85

The automatics have AFM. (Not sure if the LS3 has it?)
