It will have 2 bolts at the back of the cat up the front, and depending on whether it is a series 1 or series 2 it will have a clamp holding the rear for series 1 or a 2 bolt flange for series 2. $140 is about the average, shopping around may get it as low as $110 but it all depends on where you are.

hi,just had alook under car, the muffler is o'k', the pipe is o'k', but, the weld where the pipe comming from the cat to the muffler is has broken ,so does anybody have any idea how much to reweld ?,or cheaper to get a centre section from the wreckers ?, because otherwise the exhaust system looks in good nick !, thanks.......

If the pipe has just broken at the weld then it should only be about $20 to weld. But I would be very surprised if that is wear it broke. Look on the pipe section, does it have a full weld running around it where it broke out of the muffler? And is there a bit of rusty looking pipe on the end of it? Also look at the muffler, is there any weld on it where it broke, or is it just the flat end plate with a hole in it? More often than not, the internals of the muffler rust and break, then the pipe breaks out of the can, as that is the weakest point. I have only seen the welds break when the muffler has been hit or the welds were dodgy.

thanks for reply, it seems the entire weld has broken away from the sheet its still on the pipe all the way round, and the plate/face of the muffkler is not rusted, the piece of pipe that goes in to the muffler is brown but feels/looks solid, ive got a light (100 amp) gasless mig here at home ,might give it a go myself, any tips/hints?, thanks.......

All you will do is a temporary repair. The internals of the muffler have broken too. Welding the pipe back onto the can will stop the noise but it will still flex and break again. You may get a week out of it but you will need to replace the centre muffler.
