hi, i bought me a monster tacho that has the oil and water temp and oil pressure guage built into it, and was wondering what wires do i need to tap into for these? cheers,
you cant "tap" into existing wires for those, they need there own senders that should have come with the product. you will need t-peice adapter's for the oil pressure and water temp senders
yeh thats wat i thort. where do i have to run the senders to? it has oil and water temp. also oil pressure. cheers,
a good product i found for running multiple oil fittings ie. guages/oil lines etc are these adapters that screw between the oil filter and the engine (if you only want one fitting, just get a t-peice for the factory oil pressure sensor), they are available through Speco. as for the water temp, you'll have to find a suitable t-peice for the sender and run it from the factory coolant temp sensor location. most t-peices can be ordered through auto parts stores providing you know all the thread specs.
So much effort putting a "Monster Tacho" in when there is already one in your dash... Why not slap another speedo on while your at it? Jst cover ur whole dash with aftermarket guages even though u got everything u need in ur dash already...N then.... you will be "Top Wog Uleh" on the bloke!! lol Sorry, but every time a see a VT+ commodore with a Monster Rice tacho it makes me laugh. Just spent alot of money and there is totally no gain in having it! A stand alone shift light would be fair enough in a manual... But yeah... Each to their own, post up pix onxe you've got it installed... Maybe it'll look so good that i'll not think is so useless...
how would u know that my dash tacho is still even there. how would you know where im putting it. and there may be a possibility of wanting a shift lite. not your car,
I remember seeing a few VN's that never had the tacho there, really got me confused.? is there a reason holden didn't want people to know what there car was reving at?? anyway why do you need a "monstor tacho" just curious...
Touchy subject i see... lol! How would i know ur tacho is still in ur dash? Well it would be pretty damn stupid and difficult to take out the factory tacho.... n then go buying a monster tacho... lol  The shift light is a good idea ONLY if u got a manual, if u got an auto...then it would be silly to pay for something that tells you when to change gears since the car computer does that for you....:bang: And, despite what you might think... the rest of us don't actually keep our "keyboard fingers" up our arse's! I understand this might be something normal for you to do... but don't impose ur weird fetish on others!! lol
they guy just wants to put a monster tacho in, big deal! just help him out if u can... some people like the look of them, some dont... most of us have done useless **** to our cars, nothing NEEDS to be done to the apperance of a car, we do it coz we think it looks good.... good luck with it mate!
Yeah true.... each to their own as i said before... I mean HEY, i got neons under my car!!! The flamings i get for that from some people... while others like it! Good luck with the tacho! I guess caus its got the other gauges on it its livable! Laters
