Hey all, just thought it would be interesting to see what people rather listen to whilst driving. Do you like your music or rather listen to a purring V8? Personally I would be more entertained listening to a V8 anyday.
I prefer my music because it masks the rattles and groans and awful exhaust drone...though the engine note is good at high revs...
Most of the time I like to hear the motor/exhaust. Probably why Ive never bothered to spend more than $800 on a cd player and speakers.
I'm gonna go with music on this one. I agree with big_stretch, The music drowns out all vibrations from the dodgy exhaust, and the noises that come from the motor, that I'm pretty sure aren't meant to be there.
It depends when im driving. Around town, I listen to music. When I drove home and have to drive through the hills, I listen to the engine.
the sound of the V8 through extractors and twin high flow cats!!! sounds awesome! but when cruising i can't really hear it so I pump the music
I do a lot of driving so music for me, being stuck in peak hour or driving on a highway for hours on end you need music you like IMO..
i wont vote on that, a v8 never gets old but no matter how sweet the car sounds you have to have some tunes.
Exhaust over music, any day. IMO Although the previous owner spent $4000 on the Pioneer sound system, I very rarely listen to it, as I can't concerntrate, with loud music.
I wouldn't say it's music but when you hear a nice Holden 8 light up the tires 5 streets away from your house and you get a rush of a adrenaline and run outside to hear the rest of the burnout that's a pretty powerfull sound. Apart from a girl mid climax no other sound can do that for a guy and certainly no song (unless it's got samples of either of those two sounds in it can it do that )
i said music but u need a good mix for long trips u need something a bit different from the buuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr of the engine, but other days it its nice to hear her open up
there ain't nothing like a brocky modified 308 at full noise, can't hear the tunes when it's above 3000rpm with a bootfull of right pedal, gonna get even better when i have the twin flowmasters going, shame that the government here has just bought in new static noise emmisions test of 95dB when a one year old commie with standard exhuast was measured at 95.5dB, gotta love that 8 cylinder rumble edit: i hear ya on that girl thing though
