    now thats a build thread.

the only thing i would do is get rid of the HSV badging and logos. its not a HSV so why pretend. let it be what it is. and surely as a P plater with with the rules having HSV badges are sure to attract copper attention.

Haven't done much in a while, fitted some new engine mounts last week as the passengers side one had completely come in half :/ and i finished putting my strut brace back on and the new radiator cover that I cut out a lot neater than the old one.

Few now pics of it after a wash :)

I had been wondering if getting a VZ bonnet with a Boss scoop on it would be possibly frowned upon as it is a "Ford" design on the bonnet somewhat. It seems though the general consensus from comments on your car Scott is that it's awesome and looks nice as. I've got a VZ V8 Calais and the bonnet has a few chips all over the place. I was thinking, rather than getting it resprayed, I should just get a new bonnet with the scoop that instantly lets everyone know I drive 30km/h over the speed limit and weave in traffic without traction. Looks damn good. Mine is quick silver with the chrome bonnet lip as well. It currently has nothing to suggest it's a V8 (tiny badges removed) except when I plant the foot and the unmistakable roar of an LS1 can be heard and enjoyed by all the unwilling participants in my game of "Whoever makes the most noise wins". :D

Do you know if this was a VZ 'boss' styled scoop or a custom? Either way, they would both look amazing, not to mention the +5kw factor ;)

Hay man Yer I do get the odd person make that smart comment about having a ford bulge on a Holden but normally there not even into cars anyway, but most ppl just comment how good it actually looks on my car :) it is classed as a ford bulge but if you look at it compared to one on an xr8 mine is higher and also has a extra bit that continues at the back of the bonnet that the xr8 doesn't have so makes it a bit different.

Like the work you've put into it but I have to say it just like everyone else. It looks good with the kit but it's not a clubby so it shouldnt be badged as one.
Also one of the only people I know to use a N/A 6 as a weekender.

Yer thanks man, I guess that's probably because most people my age can't aford to have a weekender and a daily ;) lol plus I don't think it matters if it is turboed, v8, v6 or supercharged etc I don't drive it to work etc everyday as I want to keep it looking mint, I work in retail so having it parked in a car park shopping Centre everyday would not take long at all to turn it into looking like just another everyday car with dings n scratches all over it.

Yeah mate thats fair enough we all love our cars thats why where here and would suck to leave it pristine and come back to a nice paint scrape down the side.

To easy man I wasn't have a go at you either just stating why I do use it as a daily :) and yer I couldn't think of anything worse than coming back to a keyed or dinged car all because others have no respect for other people's property!

So the car is finally booked in for paint on the 21st of this month :) I'm getting the flutes and new guards fitted and the guards rolled, also getting the arial hole shaved of and the front bar clips fixed as they pop out every now n than from being warn over time, there painting the hole front end (bonnet, front bar and guards) and also getting the front doors blended so it all matches 100%, can't wait till its done and I have it back should look pretty good :D

    Cheers scott
