I thought I better resurrect this as I have kicked myself in the arse and started accumulating some goodies after the old engine was running worse at low revs. I found out the reason which I thought was a burnt valve turned out to be a vary bent pushrod, The engine was always a bit off-beat but lately it was alot worse.

So Far I have:
Yella Terra Alloy head - it needs a bit of work and i will lose a bit of compression but gain flow
Yella Terra Roller Rockers
Edelbrock 500cfm 4-barrel
Cam with just over .500" lift and 240/246 duration
Full set of lifters

Waiting on
Flat top pistons and Moly top ring

Needing:
High compression head gasket

I have the engine out and will strip it down this weekend and see what bearings are needed.
I have plans on a re-plumb of the oil pickup to an external into the sump.
The ignition is like my old LC and using a VH dizzy and twin coil
Intake manifold is a port matched and opened up stock varajet which has a 4-barrel adapter welded onto it and no restriction to the plenum, i also have a raised area to help direct fuel flow.

a couple of months back I went to a wedding at Phillip Island and picked up the head from the YT factory and brought it back in my luggage :) It was funny when I landed and went through the x-ray they stopped and reversed it to have a better look, I thought everyone did this sort of thing in NZ.
