I will do it as a priority job as soon as a few other things have been done, i need to turn it around in the workshop to do the tank

With the fuel line to the rail under the bonnet the hose on mine has a second protective hose or some sort of layer sleeved over the top of the 5/16 fuel hose im just wondering if thats standard and what people generally do about that, is the second layer transferable from the original hose, just delete the second layer, or use heater hose?

Also how much regular 5/16" fuel hose is needed to do under bonnet and tank, I understand inside tank will need submersible hose but how much regular 5/16 should I buy?

Always buy proper EFI rated fuel hose.
At a guess 1.5m of hose should sort the engine side and the tank side of the chassis hard lines.

I use Gates Barricade for all fuel hoses- you can get it from Repco.

Thanks guys, ended up with Mackay efi hose but when I got home and looked at it properly it says 100psi max on the line, seems a bit low doesn't it?

printed on hose ...

MacKay 5/16 ID fuel injection hose SAE30R9 100 psi max W.P. >FKM, ECO< (21086)

Direct injection stuff runs high fuel pressures but your run of the mill multipoint setup is relatively low.

At least it's not a common rail diesel pressurised to 3000odd psi.

The Lucas PI in my old Triumph TR6 runs at around 100 psi but that's a 50 year old Lucas mechanical system.

If you had a custom turbo setup with rising rate fuel reg, then if you were getting near 100 at full boost you would probably be going full braided lines etc etc.

As said 45-65psi covers most petroleum EFI fuel systems.
