Yeah, although I could have saved about 2000 dollars in fuel, I just havnt been bothered to change it to a quaddy. It had the 750vac before and I changed to its current 650dp just before it was registered. It's not for performance, and it's not for looks... It's just cos it's there, runs well, and I totally CBF changing it.

Plus I lost the fuel inlet fitting off the quaddy, and I'll be buggered if I can find a place that stock them :(

yeah totally! i couldve had a running gen 4 in there by now otherwise.

im hoping the 454 will teach me about tuning efi. EFI live supports the ECU that came with the engine, so with a basic rebuild ill be ok to run the ecu, but with the cam i wanna switch to i will need to get into the settings. also want to delete 3 of the 4 O2 sensors (just for cost purposes) delete the MAF and just run with the MAP which it already has, and switch out to better injectors. from what i can read the stock injectors are fine to run, but they tend to 'drip' which by all accounts wastes a lot of fuel.

once its running then ill start researching better intakes to try and stretch the rpm a little bit.

i am still looking at cams, this is the best suited to me so far:

COMP Cams 01-412-8 - COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Camshafts - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift: 212
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift: 218
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 212 int./218 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration: 264
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 270
Advertised Duration: 264 int./270 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.510 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.510 in.
Lobe Separation (degrees): 113

its pretty baby for a roller, but it lifts the rpm to around 5500 which is gonna be my sweet spot. should bring on best torque at about mid 2000rpm, so exactly where i want it on the freeway with the T700. im hoping if all my guesses are right, the engine with the new headers, injectors, maf removed etc will be putting out around 350HP@5000 (stock is 290@4000)

anything over 350 will be just the cherry on the cake. if i dont hit 350 then i can plant the blame squarely on my port design in the heads and go alloy AFR's or iron eagles, but the CC of the iron eagles will drop my CR significantly, so im a bit hesitant.

at least thats the plan. can you spot anything wrong so far? advice is appreciated as always.
