Oh well. It will soon be finished well before it would have been. A few extra days will be nothing when you're cruising up to Sydney in this rather than the Exploder.
well the exploder is gone, so if im headed up there, itll be in the GTR... just need LOTS of cash for fuel plus a new spine once i get there... 800kms in a GTR seat isnt gonna be fun.
its Hi-fill/undercoat i think. Lol i doubt your gonna let people near it to assist once its painted either Sold the exploder to pay for the paint or still need to sell the GTR to break even.
everything has been paid for. sold the exploder cos' water leak from the pump and CBF replacing it. i promised myself i would NEVER work on the exploder, and i stayed true to that promise. 1 busted window: ignored, CV joints falling off: ignored, engine mounts completely shagged: ignored, random transmission leak: ignored. but when it comes to overheating, enough was enough. and yeah original green is looong gone.
so just to clear up any confusion, this colour here is just primer/surfacer. its getting rubbed back on monday and painted atomic green which is a VE commodore colour. you can see the green on the nosecone in this pic ^^^ underneath the wrapping. the OEM colour which is 8692 sea-mist jade was wayyyy too boring, and atomic green was decided on because its a lot more 'bold' some would say itll be a polarising colour, either youre gonna hate it or youre gonna love it. either way its my car so fk you and your stupid opinions merry xmas
I've done sydney to melbourne in my skyline about 4-5 times now and hasnt been an issue. Admittedly they aren't GTR seats but I have a bad back and even with coilovers its quite comfortable. Although I have had a lot of passengers surprised by how nicely it rides, a few people didnt believe it had coilovers at first.
just gonna leave these here: the paintshop boys went above and beyond to have it back to me b4 NYE, but i doubt ill make it now. its gonna stay in the oven one more night just to sweat it off, then reassembly tomorrow midday ish after an early morning bake. pretty happy.
ive pressed the beaters for time. my birthday is *soon* and i want it back and built so i can at least drive it on my birthday. so the old saying of: there are 3 options: fast cheap good i picked fast and cheap. there are areas which are not so good, itll need to be flowed out properley once its had a few months to sweat out. the roof and boot still need glitter and the engine still needs a supercharger *what?* but for now, how it lies is how it sits and how itll roll come NYE and its exactly what i asked/paid for.
youll change the colour again in 6 months thats just a nice flat canvas ready for a block and paint LOL
I totally agree. No sense swapping the stock intake manifold for anything less than the best. Which in every case is forced induction. This may or may definitely be the reason I still have a bunch of bananas for an intake. for the next few years at least.
