- New Muffler

Story Behind The Car:

A colleague bought the VL 4 months ago & when he went to get a RWC, he was pulled up for the above items. After the car was sitting in his garage for the better part of 4 months, he put it up for sale & seeing as my Golf R is hell expensive to modify, I purchased this for $500 as a cheap project cheap toy.

Current Plans: My current plans are to get it roadworthy then sell it.

More Probable Plan: I'll not want to sell it, convert drums to disc with a VN diff, convert to power steering & turbo charge for a fun little tow car.

five speed vl cant go wrong looks like a good little project.

just dump a vl diff in it as the vn diff is wider and in my opinion looks like ****.

anyways when you sell the manual steering setup let me know because im after one for a future project once i finish my vl.
and i also have a mint fuse block from a calais im wrecking.im in sa but can post it.if interested let me know.

Nice little starting point here mate. :)

Just my opinion, don't go with a VN Diff, I struggled to get any form of low (had airbags and scrubed a lot lol) in mine with the VN diff installed (bourght the car like that). The VN diff is 52mm wider, (26mm a side). I would recommend either using VN parts to convert your diff, or just putting a whole VL calais or Turbo Diff in. :)
