I have a VT commodore that just won't start!! I thought it was my key battery so I went and spent a fair bit for a new key but it still won't start. At first I could lock and unlock the doors to make it start, then two days ago when I was driving it just stopped and then restarted which was kind of scary. When I went to drive it yesterday it would not start at all. I heard a noise kind of like something moving in the engine a week ago when I was driving but I am clueless when it comes to cars and my battery is fairly new. Please help
Does the motor turn over or do you just a dead key? Noise in the motor could be anything, can you describe it? Is it a rattling or a constant tick? etc
Is the battery still sitting in place? Check it's not loose in its holder and the terminals are still connected.
The noise is like it is trying to start and makes a click. I checked the battery and it is still in place and the terminals are tight.
If it's making only a clicking sound and not turning over at all it most probably has something to do with battrey, ie, battrey is flat, loose/coroded conections, Even new batterys can go flat so keep that in mind. Check all the fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet, Make sure they are all ok!, even the relay's, Just check over everything to do with the starting proses, Battrey, Fuses, Main wires that go to the starter motor ect, Or... The starter motor is buggerd, When they start to fail, They work sometimes and not other's, Then never work...But that doesent explain your car just stopping... so probably not starter... But thats always good to check if your car wont start...They have a fairly important job to do... Good Luck
