1997 VS Commodore II
I bought my car off a mechanic (A VS II) and he's added stuff that l've only started to find. Anyway, my brother and l have noticed that my car goes better off the mark then his stock VT. What l was wondering was that it might have a chip, how would l check that? Also, my car seems to perform better when the economy button is on (meaning that power isn't on), shouldn't it be the other way around?

you can take a look at the chip and it might say what it is or go get the car dyno tested.

as for the pwr button there could be a chance it's wired backwards

just a thaught when the button is in the down position that is economy an when raised it's power.

are you sure you have it in economy mode when you have more power?

Ye, the chip lets the car feel like in it Power mode. Problem in the long run, the transmission is under more pressure then usual, so take it easy and take advantage of the chip when necessary.

Also, dont forget, VT Commodores weigh about 200Kg more then a VS Commodore. VS Commodore have better Weight too Ratio then VT. Both carry an Ecotec 147Kw engine...............
