    Hey everyone,

Thank you fo rall the help and advise thus far, I have learned allot from all of you.

Now I need help again :whistling

My mates VS transmission is playing up and I promised him i'd jump online and ask you guys for a little advise.

I have allready been through a billion threads realting to transmission, however one more can't hurt can it?

    Anyway here it is.

It is making a whining noise while on idle but it is bareley audible, in higher rrevs it is a little louder and when the car is shut of it continues but sounds like something slowing down, woop, woop woop woop wooooop.

forwards gears are still working, we did not drive the car but my mates wife described it by using many swear words and said it wouldnt change gears it was revving out.

there is no reverse at all the car just revs and rolls forward, we checked fluid level and condition, a faded cherry red (seems a lighter tone of red, more transparant) level looked a tad low, 500 mill went in after we roleld it onto flat ground and rechecked with a hot engine and after I checked that the trans coolant lines were hot.

small leak is comming from the front of the transmission and no error codes have been logged.

    any advise?

sounds like the friction material is no more. can't explain the noise you described, but I can picture it.
tranny leak is never a good thing, that's for certain. probably best to talk to a specialist

Sounds exactly the same as when mine went - a sun/shell gear or something shears and you lose 4th/TCC and rev. Was offered a fix ($850) but no guarantee or reco the whole box and the TQ for $1850...which is the way I went. Apparently most trans will have this problem and they use a heavier sun/shell thingo so it lasts longer.
