hey airstrike is that coolerworx set up easy to install? Do you have to modify anything to make it fit?

I fitted mine with my cousin in around 3 hours start to finish. I could prob do it in half that time now.
Nothing to modify at all, that's why I used their setup. Mates up to the stock cooler, also to my 1000hp Plazmaman one with only a change of joiner.

ah cool. how much was you're plazmaman? Are bigger intercoolers hard to fit in? just having a quick look, looks like there isn't much room.

Can't say what I paid, I pay what the boys at Blue Power pay. I can say for a polished 1000hp delivered, no matter who you are it's over $1k. You have to chop the front up to fit anything bar the PWR stepped cooler or the Process West stage 1 stepped.
What are your ultimate goals power wise, and be honest with yourself.

Are the stepped coolers alright? I think I heard the small fg turbo runs out of puff at about 320-330kws so I want about that. Don't really wanna go replacing the turbo or modding it. Although in saying that if it ever breaks I would probably consider upgrading the turbo.

On 98 octane around 320rwkw is the max on the 3576, 350rwkw give or take on E85. A process west stepped will handle that fine.
If you have any doubts put a big sucker on. My mate went a PWR stepped and now has a GTX3582 like me and it heat soaks bad!

With an intercooler, if you think you need a stage one, buy a stage two. Always go one up on what you want, this will usually save you money in the long run especially if you are thinking of changing the turbo. Because heat soak will start to kill you later on!!

Also as a basic mod look at upgrading the valve springs, a little bit of insurance for your engine could go a long way.

Issue with a FG is to go any bigger then a stepped unit you have to cut the front up. This technically makes the car unroadworthy and would void your insurance.
As for valve springs, my car makes 400rwkw in standard one, why waste your money? If it needs them so be it, if not put the money towards something else.

I never thought about the legalities of cutting the front bar, good point. Was it just the bf/ba that needed the upgraded valve springs because they were an issue in the past.

FG are hit and miss. My car makes 394rwkw and a mates makes 402rwkw with stock springs, another mates FG made 280rwkw and needed springs.
I wouldn't rush out and do them unless they are needed.
The B series springs were rubbish! Shagged from factory.

When you say you have to chop the front up. Is there any metal or structural parts that need chopping up or just the bumper? Insurance must not be to much of an issue because every 2nd fg driving around had a massive intercooler and I don't believe they would be all uninsured?

Some you have to trim plastic, some (like mine) metal. Both are structural.

What happens if ever have to sell the car. will it get through the pits if you change the cooler back to standed? or is it really noticeable parts that need cutting? think I will just got with the stepped cooler. seems simpler haha.

Still have my ss aswell didnt trade it in. gota think about selling it because now including the work van I have 3 cars n the girlfriend has 1 so we have 4 cars and one carpark at the apartment we live in. taking up 3 visitor spots haha.

Do they make Guage pods for the fg? my mate had a ba xr6t and he got a neat looking Guage pod that fit on the ba dash just wondering if they make something similar for the fg.
